Oct. 19: U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Tommy Thompson takes a reporter’s question about the flu vaccine shortage at a press conference in Washington. Aventis-Pasteur has produced an extra 2.6 million doses of flu vaccine in response to the shortage, giving the United States a total of 58 million doses of influenza shots this year.
