Since 1904, the private, non-profit group Family and Child Services of Washington, D.C., Inc. (F&CS) has provided opportunities for less-fortunate children to attend summer camp.

F&CS operates Camp Moss Hollow, a rustic 400-acre site nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains near Markham, Va. The camp features a pond for canoeing, swimming pool, ropes course, arts program, many hiking trails and first-class counselors. Every year, nearly 700 children receive the opportunity to experience this life-changing program.

Support for the camp is provided by countless individuals and organizations through the Send a Kid to Camp campaign. Most campers live troubled lives; many of them come from foster homes. None could afford a week at camp without this support.

NEW: An anonymous donor has agreed to match up to $75,000 in donations, so there's no time like the present to contribute. Also, you can bid on five tickets to the August 23, 2008, showing of "The Lion King" at The John F. Kennedy Center Opera House on eBay. All of the final sale price will support this campaign. To bid, click here. The bidding closes July 26.
